5 But, said he, notwithstanding our afflictions, we have obtained a land of promise, a land which is choice above all other lands; a land which the Lord God hath covenanted with me...
*I looked up NOTWITHSTANDING today. It means "without being prevented by" and it hit me. We let our afflictions mess with our heads and prevent us from inviting Him in, from allowing Him to bless us. Don't let your afflictions win. He is greater than all.
