1) Why does life have to be so hard?
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock, if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." It is up to us to open the door! He gives us another vital key as He declares, "For without me ye can do nothing"

2) I am not so sure it's worth it all.
Nephi had problems galore. But he realized in his hour of need that all the forces of heaven were available to him. He declared, "I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." The Lord didn't forsake Nephi or Joseph Smith in Liberty Jail. And he won't forsake us.

3) How can I be certain that the Church is true?
Try to understand that when adversity comes, it is likely preparing us for something ahead. Yes, it's worth it. If you want to know the truth, you become informed, you be willing, and you be available.
