This was our FHE tonight. What an amazing perspective on eternal marriage, and giving 100% of outstripping our spouse, to our marriage. Contracts are 50/50, covenants are 100/100. 37 And behold, as the [marriage] beginneth to grow, ye will say: Let us nourish it with great care, that it may get root, that it may grow up, and bring forth fruit unto us. And now behold, if ye nourish it with much care it will get root, and grow up, and bring forth fruit. 38 But if ye neglect the [marriage], and take no thought for its nourishment, behold it will not get any root; and when the heat of the sun cometh and scorcheth it, because it hath no root it withers away, and ye pluck it up and cast it out. 39 Now, this is not because the [marriage] was not good, neither is it because the fruit thereof would not be desirable; but it is because your ground is barren, and ye will not nourish the [marriage], therefore ye cannot have the fruit thereof. 40 And thus, if ye will not nourish the [marriage], looking forward with an eye of faith to the fruit thereof, ye can never pluck of the fruit of the [marriage] of life. 41 But if ye will nourish the word, yea, nourish the [marriage] as it beginneth to grow, by your faith with great diligence, and with patience, looking forward to the fruit thereof, it shall take root; and behold it shall be a [marriage] springing up unto everlasting life.

The Everlasting and Almighty God, the Creator of this vast universe, will speak to those who approach Him with a sincere heart and real intent. He will speak to them in dreams, visions, thoughts, and feelings. He will speak in a way that is unmistakable and that transcends human experience. He will give them divine direction and answers for their personal lives. Of course, there will be those who scoff and say such a thing is impossible, that if there were a God, He would have better things to do than hear and answer a single person’s prayer. But I tell you this: God cares about you. He will listen, and He will answer your personal questions. The answers to your prayers will come in His own way and in His own time, and therefore, you need to learn to listen to His voice. God wants you to find your way back to Him, and the Savior is the way. God wants you to learn of His Son, Jesus Christ, and experience the profound peace and joy that come from following the path of divine discipleship. You can’t come to an understanding of spiritual truth with instruments that are unable to detect it. The Savior has told us in our day, “That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.” So many times, I feel like I don't feel the Spirit, but I've come to realize, I only feel that way if I've had a bad day, a cranky day, a day of frustration and yelling. I need to work on my "spirit detecting" tools. I have to start by doing better tomorrow, than I did today.

Mosiah 4: 5 For behold, if the knowledge of the goodness of God at this time has awakened you to a sense of your nothingness, and your worthless and fallen state 6 I say unto you, if ye have come to a knowledge of the goodness of God, and his matchless power, and his wisdom, and his patience, and his long-suffering towards the children of men; and also, the atonement which has been prepared from the foundation of the world, that thereby salvation might come to him that should put his trust in the Lord, and should be diligent in keeping his commandments, and continue in the faith even unto the end of his life, I mean the life of the mortal body 7 I say, that this is the man who receiveth salvation, through the atonement which was prepared from the foundation of the world for all mankind, which ever were since the fall of Adam, or who are, or who ever shall be, even unto the end of the world. This does NOT mean we are worthless. The realization of your total dependence upon the power and blessings of heaven. You are as nothing in comparison to God. You have not even the power to make one hair white or black, let alone add a single cubit to your stature. Yet the miracle of man is the greatest evidence of God, for you have within yourself the power through the atonement and the grace of God to become as he is.

President Uchtdorf October 2008, Happiness Our Heritage : To me it appears that our splendid sisters sometimes undervalue their abilities—they focus on what is lacking or imperfect rather than what has been accomplished and who they really are. What you create doesn’t have to be perfect. So what if the eggs are greasy or the toast is burned? Don’t let fear of failure discourage you. Don’t let the voice of critics paralyze you—whether that voice comes from the outside or the inside. -Sometimes it's not about the big things we didn't accomplish today, but about the little things that matter. Like my son saying I'm the "best mom ever" cuz I bought oranges.
