1.27.15

We are beloved spirit daughters of God, and our lives have meaning, purpose, and direction.  As a worldwide sisterhood, we are united in our devotion to Jesus Christ, our Savior and Exemplar.  We are women of faith, virtue, vision, and charity who: Increase our testimonies of Jesus Christ through prayer and scripture study. Seek spiritual strength by following the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Dedicate ourselves to strengthening marriages, families, and homes. Find nobility in motherhood and joy in womanhood. Delight in service and good works. Love life and learning. Stand for truth and righteousness. Sustain the priesthood as the authority of God on earth. Rejoice in the blessings of the temple, understand our divine destiny, and strive for exaltation.

1.26.15

From: Me How Firm a Foundation : 3. Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed, For I am thy God and will still give thee aid. I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, Upheld by my righteous, upheld by my righteous, Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand. 4. When through the deep waters I call thee to go, The rivers of sorrow shall not thee o'erflow, For I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless, And sanctify to thee, and sanctify to thee, And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress. 5. When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie, My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply. The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design Thy dross to consume, thy dross to consume, Thy dross to consume and thy gold to refine. 7. The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose I will not, I cannot, desert to his foes; That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake, I'll never, no never, I'll never, no never, I'll never, no never, no never forsake! Oh what power and peace this song holds for us! And we usually don't sing verses 4,5&6! 2015/01/26 11:45:00PM

1.25.15

From: Me Question from today's lesson : How does repentance help us draw nearer to them each day? My answer : When we repent, we're seeking the help of Christ. When we ask someone for help, it's usually someone we know and are very close to. We usually pick these people because asking for help means showing weakness and being vulnerable. It's very VERY hard to be vulnerable to someone you don't know and love. It takes a lot of faith and trust to ask someone for help. Asking them for help brings us closer to them, we let them into our hearts when asking for help. 2015/01/26 01:17:57AM

1.24.15

From: Me We must remember that we did not come to this earth to gain our worth, we brought it with us. We were the valiant and faithful ones who kept our first estate, who chose to come to earth and follow the Lord's plan, knowing that with His help we could keep our second estate and reach our ultimate goal in spite of the struggles along the way, or maybe because of the struggles. Pres. George Q. Cannon reminds us : "Now you are in your second estate nd you are going to be tested again. The men and women that will be loyal under these circumstances God will exalt, because it will be the highest test to which they can be subjected." 2015/01/25 02:00:47AM

1.23.15

From: Me The Lord knows us, knows our potential, and knows the desires of our hearts. On those days when you feel like you are falling behind, even after you have given it all you've got, carry in your heart and your mind this note from Him who understands: "And see that all...things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength" (Mosiah 4:27). Pres. Joseph F. Smith taught these comforting words: "God does not judge men as we do, nor look upon them in the same light we do. He knows our imperfections, all the causes, the 'whys and wherefores' are made manifest unto Him. He judges us by our acts and intents of our hearts. His judgements will be true, just and righteous. Ours are obscured by the imperfections of man." And that goes double for judging ourselves. I know I'm at least twice as hard on myself than on anyone I come across. I need to remember, I'm doing better than I think I am. 2015/01/24 01:11:03AM

1.22.15

From: Me "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" Matthew 5:48 This admonition to become perfect is not to discourage us, but actually to give us encouragement. It gives us reason to believe that it is our destiny to be like our Father - a destiny that is not only desirable but possible because of the plan our Father has for us. It is to be accomplished one step at a time, not always according to our own schedule, but "line upon line, precept upon precept; and I will try you and prove you herewith," He tells us (D&C 98:12). It is our opportunity to come to know not only who we are, but WHOSE we are, and to feel glad. 2015/01/23 12:32:14AM

1.21.15

From: Me In the end, all that is wrong will be made right. Elder Wirthlin promised : "The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude." 2015/01/21 11:21:24PM

1.20.15

From: Me We are literally children of God. His spiritual DNA runs through thru us. We were spiritually begotten in the premortal life- and like any child far away from home, we can call and find a parent happy to hear from us, eager to listen to our joys and sorrows, and willing to help us. Elder Ballard taught : as a part of His family, He is our Father in a very literal sense - and that He yearns for us to return and live with Him. 2015/01/21 12:49:33AM

1.19.15

From: Me D&C 18:10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God; We are not told to "learn" that the worth of souls is great in the sight of God. We are not told to "understand." We are told to "remember." That can only mean one thing : at some point we KNEW our worth in the sight of God. Wow! the power in that is amazing! 2015/01/20 12:25:53AM

1.18.15

As long as we are focused on ourselves and our problems, we can not be focused on Father in Heaven and our Savior. Everyone struggles, it's part of His plan. It's how we come to the realization that we have to rely on Him instead of our own strength. Heavenly Father can fill any void and can make up for all that we lack. He has faith in us. I know that if I want to KNOW Him, I need to search for Him. Mark 9:20-27 tells me how. 1) I have to approach Him 2) I have to express my need 3) I have to be willing to believe "Lord, I believe, help thou mine unbelief."

1.2.2015

I read Pres. Monson's message from 3 years ago, Living The Abundant Life. He gives the Abc's. A- attitude. So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment. B- believe—in yourself, in those around you, and in eternal principles. C- courage. Courage becomes a worthwhile and meaningful virtue when it is regarded not so much as a willingness to die manfully but as a determination to live decently. Favorite part: Courage is required to make an initial thrust toward one’s coveted goal, but even greater courage is called for when one stumbles and must make a second effort to achieve. Take courage, my dear sisters. https://www.lds.org/liahona/2012/01/living-the-abundant-life?lang=eng
